September 28, 2012 By Radio Iowa Contributor

An additional murder charge has been filed in connection to the beating death of a Spencer man last month. Spencer Police say 21-year-old Cody Millard of Spencer was arrested Thursday on a charge of first-degree murder.

He accused in the death of 59-year-old Edward Kitto, who was found beaten and unresponsive in the backyard of a Spencer home on August 27. Kitto died two weeks later at a Sioux Falls Hospital. Millard is being held on $250,000 bond.

Twenty-one-year old Christopher Fitzpatrick was previously arrested in connection with the case and has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, first-degree robbery and willful injury.
