Morningside buts unbeaten record on the line

October 12, 2012 By Todd Kimm

Morningside looks to remain unbeaten when the fourth ranked Mustangs hosts a 19th ranked Dakota Wesleyan team that is 4-1.

Morningside coach Steve Ryan says Wesleyan has an exceptionally explosive offense and a quarterback who is the best passer they have seen this year. The Mustang defense is giving up less than six points per game and opponents have converted on only 18 of 87 third down opportunities.

Morningside’s formula for success this season has been to jump out to an early lead then turn things over to the defense. He says they have done more of that the last couple of years as they focused on running the ball and controlling the game.

Morningside is 5-0.
