Emmet County releases name of victim in motorcyle accident Sunday

October 23, 2012 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Authorities in northwest Iowa are now releasing the name of the man killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunday night.

According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, the sheriff’s office received a call around 8:30 p.m. from a person reporting a motorcycle accident south of Dolliver at the intersection of two county roads.

Martens says an investigation determined that a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 49-year-old Michael Ray Olson of rural Estherville was southbound from Dolliver when the motorcycle approached the T-intersection. The motorcycle crossed the intersection and then left the roadway, crashing into the south ditch and killing the driver.
