Autopsy finds Ogden woman was strangled to death

The autopsy is complete on Jaclyn Powell of Ogden, the woman who was allegedly killed by her husband last weekend. In its findings, the medical examiner determined that Powell died of asphyxiation due to strangulation.

The manner of death is being classified as a homicide. Last Sunday, the Boone County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call placed by 28-year-old Josh A. Powell. He stated that his wife was deceased inside the home in Ogden. The Ogden Police department responded and found Josh Powell waiting outside the residence upon their arrival.

The police entered the home and found the body of Jaclyn Powell.Court records show Josh Powell admitted he and his wife had an altercation on October 20 inside the residence. Powell said that during the fight, he intentionally struck Jaclyn Powell resulting in her death.

Josh Powell is being held in the Boone County Jail on a bond of two million dollars.
