Mitt Romney cancels campaign stops in Iowa, Ann Romney will appear

October 30, 2012 By O. Kay Henderson

Mitt Romney has canceled his campaign appearances as the hurricane and its aftermath grip the east coast, but his wife will campaign in Iowa today. Mitt Romney’s last public event was in Davenport yesterday afternoon and he described the campaign as “quite an undertaking.”

“It’s a thrill to get to do what I get to do and to see people across the country like I get to see you today,” Romney said. “You can’t imagine. I get so much energy from you that, by the way, at the end of the day it takes a long time for me to slow down and fall asleep, all right?”

Early this afternoon Mrs. Romney will stop at a campaign office in Cedar Rapids where storm relief donations are being accepted. Early this evening Ann Romney will headline a rally in Des Moines.
