Service today will remember crew of medical helicopter that crashed

January 10, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

CrewA public memorial service for the three victims of last week’s Mercy Air Med helicopter crash will be held this afternoon in Mason City.

Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa is helping to coordinate the community memorial service for Shell Lair-Langenbau, Russ Piehl and Gene Grell.

It will be held starting at 4 o’clock at the North Iowa Community Auditorium on the North Iowa Area Community College campus, with the auditorium opening at 3:30.

Mercy-North Iowa is also helping to coordinate donations to memorial funds to support the families of the victims as well as to fund a monument in honor of the flight crew.

You can donate through the hospital’s website at mercynorthiowa.com
