Ottumwa man arrested on child endangerment charges

January 14, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A man wanted on child endangerment charges was arrested over the weekend in eastern Iowa. Ottumwa Police issued an arrest warrant last week for 25-year-old Michael Blair of Swisher.

On December 7, officers were sent to an Ottumwa hospital on the report of a two-month-old child in the emergency room with serious injuries. The investigation led to the warrant issued for Blair.

He was taken into custody early Saturday morning in Linn County. Authorities say Blair was found at 1 a.m. in an attic of a home in Ely. He was charged with multiple acts of child endangerment.

Blair was transported to the Wapello County Jail this morning. The infant’s name and condition have not been released.
