Big crowd expected as Iowa and Penn State hit the mat

February 1, 2013 By Todd Kimm

A sellout crowd is expected in Iowa City tonight as the third ranked Iowa Hawkeyes host top ranked and two-time defending national champion Penn State in a wrestling dual. The Hawkeyes squeaked out a 16-15 victory at Minnesota last weekend as the teams split the ten matches.

Iowa coach Tom Brands says to beat Penn State the Hawks must be the aggressor. “We want answers, we want statements, we want exclamation marks and we want to be the answer to the question: ‘who is going to win this weight class.’ It takes a lot of work and a lot of energy to wrestle that way and get that result,” Brands says.

Both teams are 5-0 in Big Ten dual meets.
