Iowa holds on for road win

February 15, 2013 By Todd Kimm

The Iowa Hawkeyes finally got a much needed road victory in Big Ten play. Despite scoring only three field goals in the final 12 minutes the Hawkeyes hung on to edge Penn State. The Hawks led by 11 in the second half before the Nittany Lions rallied.

Iowa coach Fran McCaffery said they missed some close shots late, but they executed plays and he said when you execute you tend to win instead of giving up the ball and easy shots on the other end.

Roy Devyn Marble scored 22 points as the Hawks improve to 5-7 in the Big Ten. Iowa is 16-9 overall and hosts Minnesota on Sunday.
