Drake men look to get back on the winning track

February 20, 2013 By Todd Kimm

The Drake Bulldogs will be out to snap a four game losing skid, tonight, when they host Bradley in Missouri Valley Conference play. The slide has dropped the Bulldogs back to ninth place in the Valley standgings. Bradley is 7-8 and beat Drake in their first matchup in Peoria.

Drake coach Mark Phelps says Bradley’s guards are tough to handle as they perform at both ends of the floor, with each averaging five steals on defense.

Phelps says they have been working in practice to cut down on turnovers as they need to see on film the angles they are taking and the timing they are using so they are in situations where they can deal with pressure and be more patient and sure with what they are doing.

Drake is 11-15 overall.
