Three die in accident near Letts

February 28, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Three people were killed this morning when a car collided with a school bus in southeast Iowa. The crash occurred around 7:20 a.m. just south of Louisa-Muscatine High School in Letts.

The names of the victims have not been released, but a report from the state patrol indicates all three were adults and were occupants of the car. There were no students on the bus.

The report states the car, a Nissan Sentra, was headed north on Highway 61 when it hit an icy patch, slid across the center line and into the southbound bus. The driver of the bus was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.
