Man arrested after high-speed chase in Pottawattamie County

March 21, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A Council Bluffs man is in jail after a high-speed chase that spanned three counties in southwest Iowa last night. Lieutenant Pat McGinn, at the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Department, says the black BMW was clocked at speeds as high as 120 miles an hour.

It blazed through Cass and Audubon counties, until a Pottawattamie County deputy spotted the car speeding his way near Oakland. The deputy deployed stop sticks which the BMW ran over, causing one of its tires to deflate.

A short time later, the driver was finally pulled over about 35 minutes after the chase began. He’s identified as 25-year-old Zachary White and he’s jailed in Pottawattamie County on a series of charges including: felony eluding and operating while intoxicated.
