Iowa coach will chose a QB if one of the 3 steps up

March 29, 2013 By Todd Kimm

The battle is underway at Iowa where three quarterbacks are vying to become the new starter. Jake Rudock, Cody Sokol and C.J. Beatherd all hope to replace James Vandenberg under center.

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says they are going in with an open mind without an incumbent quarterback. Ferentz says they will name a starter this spring if a clear number one emerges. Ferentz says it sometimes becomes clear very quickly who the starter will be, but other times the contest carries out into the fall.

Iowa closes our spring practice with a scrimmage on April 27th.
