A turtle-snatcher is on the loose in northeast Iowa. Someone scaled a four-foot glass wall and stole a big turtle from the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium in Dubuque.

It’s still not known how they got the 18-pound Leopard Tortoise out of the building. Security tapes are being reviewed. Someone may’ve been able to smuggle to the critter out under a coat or in a large backpack or bag. The tortoise is from Africa and has a very specific diet.

Officials are hoping the thief will return the creature called “Cashew” or at least phone in for advice on how to care for it.
