The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office has made two arrests in connection with several fires set in the county.

After a month-long investigation, 22-year-old Shawn Kraft, formerly of West Union and 28-year-old Ryan Jones of West Union were arrested Monday and charged with second-degree arson for a fire set April 20th at the Farmers Cooperative in West Union.

They were also charged with conspiracy to commit arson for a planned, but failed, dumpster fire on March 15th. Kraft and Jones were charged with second-degree arson for dumpster fire behind the All Stop station in West Union on November 24th.

The men also face two charges for reckless use of fire for incidents on Christmas Eve and February 26th, where they allegedly started small fires on the doorsteps of West Union residents and then rang the doorbell. Officials say the case is still open more charges could be filed.
