Explosion at Postville plant injures 3

June 17, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A blast at a factory in northeast Iowa early today injured several workers. Three people were injured early this morning after a fire and explosion at the Norplex laminate manufacturing plant in Postville.

The Postville Fire Department was called to the scene around quarter after one. Postville Fire Chief Jeffrey Bohr said one of the injured was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospital’s burn unit. Plant manager Alan Johnson says the state fire marshall will be on the scene today, investigating the explosion.
