June 19, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A Postville man is in custody after a stabbing at the Agristar meat processing plant in Postville Tuesday night.

Postville police say 23-year-old John Herrera was charged with willful injury after allegedly stabbing 29-year-old Abdikani Hassan of West Liberty. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. Tuesday night.

Hassan was transported to a Waukon hospital and airlifted to a hospital in La Crosse. He’s expected to survive his injury, which authorities describe as a single stab wound to his left shoulder blade.
