UNI coach wants to continue playing Creighton in basketball

June 25, 2013 By Todd Kimm

UNI basketball coach Ben Jacobsen says he would like to see a series with Creighton restarted down the road. The Blue Jays left the Missouri Valley Conference after this past season to join the new Big East and Jacobsen says the Panthers would be interested in playing Creighton in a non conference series.

Jacobsen says it was too late in the process to rearrange the nonconference schedule to get going for the next season, but he hopes to get something going pretty soon.

Jacobsen says the non conference slate for next season is nearly complete though the Panthers are looking for an additional home game. He says they are coming out of a year when Iowa and Iowa State dropped to one game between the instate teams and the Mountain West Challenge and Bracketbuster games went away for everyone in the conference.

So they have four road games, the neutral site game with the Cyclones and the Paradise Jam Tournament.
