Churdan man dies in motorcycle accident

July 22, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

One man is dead after a motorcycle accident early Sunday in Mahaska County near Oskaloosa. According to a State Patrol crash report, two motorcycles driven by 61-year-old Sammy Baugh, of Churdan, and 31-year-old Matthew Kraft of Rockwell City were heading northbound on Merino Ave when they both lost control and entered the northeast ditch.

Baugh was taken by ambulance to Mahaska Health Partnership where he was later pronounced dead. Kraft was injured in the accident, however the report states that he refused treatment. The Iowa State Patrol continues to investigate the accident
