Rodney Long
The Iowa Department of Public Safety confirms the man sought in Taylor County is dead. Law officers have been searching for Rodney Eugene Long since he escaped from the Clarinda Correctional Facility.
Offiicials say Long shot at and hit a Taylor County Sheriff’s Deputy Sunday night and led officers on a high-speed chase in a stolen patrol car before he wrecked the car and esaped.
Officials are not giving out any more details about how Long died until a news conference later this morning.
