Police arrested 14 people inside Kinnick Stadium as the Iowa Hawkeyes opened their football season Saturday. One of those individuals has gained worldwide attention for her Twitter posts.

Police say 22-year-old Samantha Goudie tried to get onto the field before the game and was arrested for public intoxication. In the stadium jail, she registered a .341 blood alcohol content — more than four times the legal limit for drunk driving.

From the jail, she tweeted, “I’m going to get .341 tattooed on me because it’s so epic.” David Showalter, a fellow University of Iowa student, says Goudie’s post-arrest actions caught a lot of attention.

“The fact that she got arrested isn’t a big deal, it was the tweeting she did from jail, that blew up the most,” Showalter says. Several online sites, including Dead Spin and the New York Post, have reposted Goudie’s tweets with headlines that describe her as “the world’s drunkest college student.”

U-of-I student Jake Glegndenni says the behavior just perpetuates the party school reputation Iowa just can’t seem to shake.) “It does fill that stereotype, which we’re not all out to do, we’re out to have a good time, but most of us tend to control ourselves,” Glegndenni said.

On Twitter, Goudie used the handle “Vodka Samm.” On Monday, she sent a couple of tweets that read: “Yes people I did drink at Iowa’s first tailgate. If they breathalyzed everyone in Iowa City I would have had a lot of cellmates” and “well, class is going to be really awkward tomorrow.”

Her Twitter account has since been shut down.
