Fort Dodge man dies in Webster County accident

September 5, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A 51-year-old Fort Dodge man was killed when he wrecked his motorcycle Wednesday night near Duncombe in Webster County. The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as Steven DeWayne Coppinger. Reportedly a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Coppinger was traveling eastbound when he reached a curve, losing control of the cycle.

The motorcycle exited the west edge of the roadway when the motorcycle flipped, ejecting the driver. Coppinger was transported to a Fort Dodge hospital and airlifted to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines where he died of his injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.
