Iowa looks to rebound against Missouri State

September 6, 2013 By Todd Kimm

The Iowa Hawkeyes will try to snap a seven-game losing skid when they host Missouri State. Iowa enters as a heavy favorite but coach Kirk Ferentz says his players are aware that eight FCS teams beat FBS foes a week ago.

“It’s pretty awakening for everybody if you’re not paying attention, it’s a good thing to be mindful of,” Ferentz says. He says 8 teams found out last week that there’s nothing easy about winning at any level.

Missouri State opened with a 23-17 loss to Northwestern State of Louisiana.  The Iowa offense will get a different look against Missouri State’s 3-4 defense. “It’s kind of like what we do…it’s good to get a change,” Ferentz says. He says it causes some blocking changes and that is a benefit to them.
