An apparent homicide victim in Tama has been identified. Police were sent to a home at 104 Harmon Street in Tama at 3 p.m. Wednesday to check on the well-being of a woman. Thirty-two-year-old Kerry O’Clair-Jefferson was found dead inside the home.

Authorities are trying to determine exactly how she died, but say the nature of her injuries make the death suspicious. O’Clair-Jefferson did not live at the home, but police say she was a friend staying with the family who lived there. At least one person was taken into custody as a material witness, 57-year-old Ginger Jefferson of Toledo.

Tama Police Chief Jeff Filloon said authorities are not searching for a suspect.
