The trial of an 80-year-old Thompson man who is accused of sexually abusing six children begins today in Allison.  Clarence Miller is charged with six counts of second-degree sexual abuse between January 2010 and August 2012 with six different children under the age of 12.

Today’s trial marks the first of three for Miller. A severing of trials was granted last month, with the other two trials scheduled for October 14th in Bremer County and October 28th in Butler County.

Miller was placed under arrest in September 2012 after an investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the Iowa Department of Human Services and the Winnebago County Attorney’s office.
