Pedestrian hit and killed in Ames accident

October 4, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A central Iowa man died in traffic shortly after last night’s Cyclone football game. A 23-year-old Pleasant Hill man was killed late Thursday night as the result of a car pedestrian accident in Ames. The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as Austin William Wonderlich.

The accident happened on Highway 30 when Wonderlich ran from the center median into the path of a 2006 Dodge Stratus driven by 21-year-old Daniel Strait of Webster City. Wonderlich was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The accident happened as motorists were heading home from the Iowa State-Texas football game.
