Teen stabbed at Fort Dodge High School homecoming dance

Police in Fort Dodge are investigating a stabbing Saturday night during the Fort Dodge Senior High School homecoming dance. When officers arrived shortly before 11:00, they found school officials administering first aid to the 17-year-old male who was stabbed in the back.

He was first  taken to a Fort Dodge hospital and then airlifted to a Des Moines hospital for additional treatment. Initial reports indicated that the victim’s injuries were not life threatening. The name of the invididual stabbed was not released by Fort Dodge Police. A 17-year-old male juvenile from Fort Dodge was later apprehended.

He is facing a charge of willful injury, and was transported to a juvenile facility to wait for an initial court appearance. The name of the juvenile arrested will not be released due to his age. Authorities continue their investigation into the stabbing incident.
