Hampton man dies in Franklin County accident

October 11, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A 70-year-old Hampton man was killed Thursday night in a crash near Chapin in Franklin County. The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as Keith Studer.

Reportedly an eastbound 2001 GMC Sierra pickup truck driven by Studer was on Franklin County Road C-23 when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of U.S.Highway 65. The pickup went through the intersection where it came to rest in the northbound ditch landing in a creek bed. Studer was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
