State Auditor Mary Mosiman has uncovered more alleged improper payments to a former DOT employee.  Mosiman says new auditing done since April found  $195,350 of improper disbursements, disability benefits and uncollected lease payments by David Weigel of Nevada, a former employee of the property management division of the DOT.

Mosiman says Weigel used fake invoices to receive nearly $118,000 from a construction company, and also received over $76,000 in improper benefits from the state retirement system and the Social Security Administration. The money either went to Weigel or his son Jason, who has also been charged in the scam.

The auditor says a total of just over $776,000 of improper disbursements has been identified so far in the investigation.
