Gas prices drop below 3 bucks a gallon

October 24, 2013 By O. Kay Henderson

The price of gas has dipped below $3-a-gallon at many Iowa stations. As of this past Tuesday, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Iowa had dropped two cents a gallon from last week. It’s 27-cents-a-gallon lower than it was last year.

According to www.gasbuddy.com, gas is selling for $2.92-a-gallon at some stations in Sioux City and has dropped to $2.93 at some stations in Cedar Rapids. However, in places like Waterloo, Dubuque and Charles City, gas is still selling well above $3-a-gallon.
