Officials at William Penn University in Oskaloosa have identified a freshman student found dead in his dorm last night. According to a University Press Release, the student has been identified as 19-year-old freshman Renell Perkins from Michigan.
Perkins’ family was notified late Thursday evening of his death. University officials report Perkins was found on the floor of his dorm room by friends after they became concerned and broke down the door of his room. A preliminary cause of death appears to be associated with diabetes and insulin related complications.
An autopsy will be performed on the body to determine an official cause of death.
