Humbodlt area man dies in accident

October 31, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A 90-year-old man from rural Humboldt was killed Wednesday in an accident in the Webster County town of Badger. The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as Joseph Earl Colwell.

Reportedly the 1998 Buick Park Avenue driven by Colwell was traveling north on Webster County Road P-59 when the car failed to negotiate the T-intersection, leaving the roadway and striking a semi-trailer that was parked in a nearby lot. Conditions were foggy at the time of the accident. Colwell was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
