Hawkeyes seek bowl eligibility on the road

November 8, 2013 By Todd Kimm

The Iowa Hawkeyes will bid for win number six when they visit Purdue. The Boilermakers have struggled to a 1-7 record but Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz expects a close game.

“Purdue has had a couple of loses that were a little bit onesided, yet they lost to a pretty good Nortre Dame team by 7 points and Michigan State is playing pretty good football and Purdue gave up one touchdown to Michigan State,”Ferentz says. He says they have to be ready for the team that played the close games.

Ferentz wants to see the Iowa running game bounce back after struggling the past two weeks. He says it’s a road game and they will have to be at their best as anything can happen. Purdue is going with true freshman Danny Ettling at quarterback. Ferentz says they looked at Ettling during recruiting and says he is a good player.
