The Iowa football team is enjoying its final off week of the regular season. The Hawkeyes are bowl eligible after a 38-14 victory at Purdue and will finish the regular season with games against Michigan and Nebraska.  “We’re thrilled to be at this point,” Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says. He says they talked about getting the sixth win last week and says this is the time of year when teams are playing for rewards and every game means a lot.

The off week comes at a good time for some banged up running backs. Ferentz says Mark Weisman and Damon Bullock have had a lot of carries and the off week will allow them to get their legs back a little bit.

Seldom used Jordan Canzeri had a big day against Purdue with 165 yards. “I think that’s one thing we saw with Jordan Saturday, you know his legs were a little fresher, he hasn’t had the wear and tear. Hopefully it’s a chance to rest the guys who have gone hard and maybe push the other guys forward a little bit. And the biggest things is to

try and to get the guys that are nicked up healthy,” Ferentz says.

Iowa is 6-4.
