Farmers made more progress in completing the harvest last week. The U.S.D.A. crop report shows the soybean harvest is virtually complete with 98-percent of the beans now in the bin. That’s three days ahead of normal.

The corn harvest moved to 88-percent complete, which is eight percentage points and three days ahead of the normal harvest. Farmers are working as fast as they can to get the rest of the crop harvested, as the state ag secretary says the 12-percent of the corn still in the fields represents an estimated one-billion dollars in grain.
