The Grand View football team is ready for the second season. After posting a 10-0 regular season mark the Vikings take a number-two national ranking into the opening round of the NAIA playoffs on Saturday at home against Ottawa of Kansas. “It’s just like right before the Drake week, starting all over again and it’s a one and done and you are out. Hopefully these kids can maintain the level of performance that we’ve had thus far,” Grand View coach Mike Woodley says.

He hopes a tough regular season schedule has prepared the Vikings for the playoffs with five ranked teams and Drake. Woodley says they have likely seen everything they might see in the playoffs when it comes to level of play, because of the regular season.

Ottawa is 8-3 and Woodley says the Braves are very similar to his team. He says they aren’t overwhelming statistically, but are solid in all phases of the game.
