Iowa State rallies late to win at BYU

November 21, 2013 By Todd Kimm

Melvin Ejim and DeAndre Kane both scored 21 points and Georges Niang added 19 as Iowa State held off BYU for a 90-88 victory as the Cyclones moved to 4-0. “It’s just an unbelievable win,” Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg says, “To find a way to gut it out is great for our team, it’s great for our fans.”

Hoiberg saw his team rally from 12 points down to remain unbeaten. He says that will build confidence in the team, as he said there was a worry about a letdown after beating Michigan.

Iowa State hosts Missouri-Kansas City on Monday.
