Storm Lake man faces charges for allegedly assaulting two women

December 9, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A northwest Iowa man faces charges after allegedly assaulting two women early this morning at an apartment in Storm Lake.

Thirty-two-old Vincent Nichols of Storm Lake is accused of sexually assaulting a woman who had passed out from alcohol consumption. Nichols girlfriend told police she walked into the bedroom and saw the assault. She says Nichols choked her, hit her and she lost consciousness. Once she came to, she was able to escape the apartment and call 911.

When authorities arrived at the apartment, police say Nichols resisted arrest and one policeman received minor injuries.  Neither of the women were taken to the hospital.  Nichols is being held without bond in the Buena Vista County Jail, facing third degree sexual abuse and domestic assault charges.
