Des Moines man arrested after incident in store parking lot

December 27, 2013 By Pat Curtis

A Des Moines man is facing charges for an apparent “road rage” incident. The incident took place Thursday afternoon in a Walmart parking lot on Des Moines southeast side. A police report indicates a man was pulling into the parking lot with his three children — ages 2, 4, and 6 — in the vehicle, when another motorist began yelling at and threatening him.

When the man with the children yelled back, the second motorist — identified as 27-year-old Kristopher Jon Pinckney — turned his vehicle around and pursued the other car. Witnesses said Pinckney was the aggressor and twice tried to sideswipe the vehicle. Pinckney was jailed on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and child endangerment.
