A Grinnell man was stabbed during a fight Saturday afternoon.

Grinnell Police Sergeant Chris Wray says the altercation broke out between two men in an apartment, moved into a hallway, and concluded in the parking lot. 31-year old Tony Lee Inman of Grinnell suffered multiple stab wounds to the upper left side of his chest and one stab wound above the left eye. None of the wounds appeared to be life threatening. Inman was taken to the hospital for treatment and held overnight for observation.

At one point, the hospital was placed in “lockdown” mode until the suspect could be located. Police did soon locate and detain the suspect, 28-year old Braxton Alan Hoover of Georgia. He is charged with willful injury, assault while using a dangerous weapon and child endangerment. He was taken to the County Jail.
