DCI agent stops convenience store robbery in Atlantic

January 30, 2014 By Dar Danielson

An off duty state DCI agent stopped a robbery at a convenience store in western Iowa’s Cass County Wednesday. The DCI says 22-year-old Brady Salberg entered a Casey’s store in Atlantic around 8:40 and told the cashier he had a weapon and demanded money.

DCI special agent Shelby McCreedy saw what was happening and called 911. McCreedy then went into the store and identified herself as an officer and told Salberg to get on the floor. Salberg did what he was told and was taken to jail by Atlantic police. He is charged with second-degree robbery.
