ISU improves to 5-4 in the Big-12 with the win. “Wow that was unbelievable, it was fun to be a part of, it was stressful being a part of,”  Cyclone coach Fred Hoiberg said after the game.

The biggest shot of the night came at the end of the second overtime when Naz Long buried a three pointer to tie the score. “We had to have a stop, we chose to defend, and got the stop and a rebound and called a timeout,” Hoiberg explained. He said they worked up a play and were able to get it to Long and he hit the three. “I’m really happy for that kid, just because of the amount of time he puts into it,” Hoiberg said.

It ended a string of frustrating losses in Stillwater for Iowa State. Hoiberg says he had four “horrible losses” as a player in there and he says the last three have been so close, so it was huge to pull out the win.

DeAndre Kane led the Cyclones with 26 points.
