ISU women fall to TCU on late shot

February 6, 2014 By Todd Kimm

Donielle Breaux’s three pointer from the top of the key with six seconds remaining was the game winner as TCU stunned the Iowa State women 61-60 in Ames.

The Cyclones fall to 5-6 in the Big 12. “You look at these numbers and we have some people who aren’t playing the way they need to play,” Iowa State coach Bill Fennelly said after the game. The Cyclones struggled against TCU’s zone defense. He says you have to make three’s when teams play a zone and find open spots on the floor and they were not able to do that.

Iowa State struggled shooting the ball, again, and finished at 39 percent from the field. Brynn Williamson led Iowa State with 18 points.
