The UNI wrestling team will try to keep its perfect dual meet record in tact on Saturday when the Panthers host Iowa State at the West Gym.  UNI coach Doug Schwab says there’s no doubt it’s a big dual. “I know I’ve thought quite a bit about this meet, you don’t want to try to look too much to one meet in particular, but we’ve had a lot of big meets. We’ve had big meets already so our guys know how to perform in a big meet so this will just be the next one on the calendar,”Schwab says.

UNI officials are expecting a capacity crowd to pack into the West Gym for the intrastate match-up, and Schwab says that’s exactly what he wants. “We’ve definitely circled this date, we’ll be ready for it to welcome Iowa State very rudely to the West Gym, and hopefully we’ll have a lot of fans who do the same,” Schwab says.

The Panthers have yet to defeat Iowa State during Schwab’s tenure at UNI. While that could change tomorrow, Schwab says there’s no way to know which bout could turn the meet. He says on paper there are some matches where each team is favored and he says they will have to win the so-called “swing matches” to take the meet.

Tomorrow’s dual gets started at 5:00. It was originally scheduled for tonight, but was moved due to a concert at the UNI-Dome.
