UNI coach votes Wichita State #2 in the country

February 11, 2014 By Radio Iowa Contributor

UNI coach Ben Jacobson believes that his team just faced the second-best squad in the country. The Panthers fell to Wichita State 82-73 on Saturday. Jacobson is the Missouri Valley’s representative for the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.

He says that he voted the Shockers #2 again this week, but did not give much thought to moving them up to #1. Jacobson says Syracruse has played and beaten more teams in the top 40 than Wichita and that’s why he has them number one and Wichita at number two.

The Panthers dropped their two matchups against Wichita this season by a combined 15 points. UNI will be back in action tomorrow night with a home game against Loyola.
