Iowa Business Council elects new leaders

February 25, 2014 By Matt Kelley

An organization representing 25 of Iowa’s biggest employers has selected its leadership for the year. The Iowa Business Council is a nonprofit group whose members include the top executives of the largest businesses in the state and the three presidents of the state universities.

In 2014, the IBC will be chaired by Larry Zimpleman, CEO of the Principal Financial Group in Des Moines. Michael Wells, CEO of Wells Enterprises, based in Le Mars, will serve as vice chair, while John Sorensen, head of the Iowa Bankers Association, was re-elected as treasurer.

The IBC’s leadership was announced today, although council members determined the organization’s leadership during their annual business meeting last month in Des Moines.
