Sioux City woman survives being shot in the head

March 10, 2014 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A Sioux City woman survived after being hit in the head by a shot fired through the wall of her apartment this weekend. Officers learned that 43-year-old Phuoc H. Nguyen had fired a rifle through the walls of the residence. One of the bullets struck 54-year-old Hang Duong in the head. She was treated and released at a local hospital. A search warrant was served and the firearm that was believed to have fired the shot was seized.

Nguyen was arrested for reckless use of a firearm, discharging a firearm within the city limits and assault while participating in a felony.
