Iowa man’s death in Nebraska linked to meth

March 14, 2014 By Matt Kelley

A medical examiner’s report now blames meth for the death of an Iowa man during a traffic stop in Nebraska last fall. A Nebraska state trooper pulled over the car on November third in which Matthew Ahlsten was a passenger. Minutes later, the 35-year-old from Sioux City suffered a seizure, passed out and died before he could he could be rushed to a hospital.

The autopsy released this week found Ahlsten died of methamphetamine toxicity and ruled the death accidental. According to the Dakota County Attorney, a grand jury found no crime was involved in the death.
