Cyclones head to the Big Apple for Sweet 16

March 26, 2014 By Todd Kimm

The Iowa State Cyclones are headed to New York City and an appearance in the “Sweet 16” of the NCAA Tournament. The Cyclones play U-Conn this Friday night in the semifinals of the East Regional in Madison Square Garden. “First and foremost, it’s going to be a heck of an atmosphere. It’s so different than anywhere you are ever going to be…It’s such a cool experience,” ISU coach Fred Hoiberg says.

Hoiberg says Madison Square Garden is different from every other arena and they will talk about that and how they need to take care of business.

Top seeded Virginia will play fourth seeded Michigan State in the other game on Friday night.
