The Iowa Hawkeye women could not hit a perimeter shot and had no chance against fourth ranked Louisville as the Cardinals posted an 85-55 win in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Iowa City. It was a disappointing ending for an outstanding season for the Hawkeyes. “They came out and played very, very well, especially defensively and that made us struggle offensively,” Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says.

The Hawkeyes suffered through an eight minute scoring drought in the opening half and trailed by 17 at the break. Bluder says Louisville did a great job of keeping the ball out of the hands of the Hawkeye scorers. Iowa missed their first 15 three pointers and finished one of 16 from behind the arc.

Junior guard Samantha Logic says they knew they were going to get pressure and traps, but they didn’t execute. Logic finished with 12 points. Iowa’s lone senior Theairra Taylor closed out her career with 10 points.

Freshman Ally Disterhoft led Iowa with 15 points as the Hawks close the season with a record of 27-9.
